Punjab Kabaddi championship in Patiala

The Punjab State Kabaddi Championship will be organised  in February at Patiala. The decision was taken at the first meeting of the Kabaddi Association of Punjab (NKAP) here on Saturday.
The executive committee of NKAP, which is affiliated to the New Kabaddi Federation of India (NKFI) in its first meeting also authorised its president Major (Retd.) Amardeep Singh Natt to take up the matter of recognition of the state by the state Sports Department so that youth could get full benefit of Government schemes.
Among various issues discussed, it was also decided to oversee the formation of district bodies to ensure all decisions are taken as per the constitution of the Association.
NKAP has been formed with the objective of promoting the sport of Kabaddi amongst the youth of Punjab and to help them channelize their energy and time into sport and abstain from drugs. 
The meeting was chaired by the president Major (Retd) Amardeep Singh Natt, Political Secretary to CM Captain Sandeep Sandhu and was attended by Senior Vice President Amarjang Singh, Vice President Ratandeep Singh Dhaliwal, General Secretary Rajwant Singh Sandhu, Treasurer Kulwant Singh, Legal Advisor Vikas Mittal, President Sangrur District Santokh Singh, President Patiala District Sanjay Inder Singh Chahal, Daljit Singh Dullat (Patiala district), Imran Farooqui (Sangrur district), Yugraj Singh Kharaud (Patiala district), Balwinder Singh Fidda and Hardeep Singh Bhullar, both Arjuna awardees.
